4th axis strange development/ jerky movements
« on: March 03, 2012, 05:08:41 PM »
Machine has been and running great with 4th axis. Turned it on today and I get incremental movement on the a (4th) axis. I give it a a command and the rotary head doesn't have a fluid movement to that position, just a jerky move a couple of degrees, dead stop, repeat until A position reached. Even in G1. I don't remember changing any parameters.
Any Help?

If you attach your xml I will look see if there is a problem with it. Do the DROs show the jerky movement?

Yes,
The control seems to be sending out pulses of movements. I can manually move the a axis and it is as smooth as butter. This just started. Do I just search for a .xml file?
thanks

Open Mach and look lower right for the name of the profile you are using then look in the mach folder for a file of that name with an xml extension.

Try setting your kernel to 25KHz and restart Mach and see if that helps.
