« on: January 19, 2010, 05:21:56 PM »
HELLO ALL

I JUST GOT MY MACHINE RUNNING ON MACH3 ,I'M HAVING A PROBLEM , WHEN MY Z AXIS RETRACTS AT THE END OF MY PART PROGRAM AND THE VALUE OF MY RETRACT IS 30 MM IN MY G-COD FILE , THE TOOL GOES UP TO 30MM BUT THE DRO SHOWS 32.********* OR 33.********* OR 35.XX RANDOM DIFFRENT VALUES EVRY TIME I GET A DIFFRENT VALUE ADDED TO THE 30 MM IN THE  DRO , SO THE NEXT CUT I MAKE IS LOWER THEN ZERO BY THAT VALUE.
HAS ANYONE HAD THIS PROBLEM ? CAN YOU HELP?

THANK YOU

You can attach them by using the additional options button on the reply page. You will need to rename your xml as the forum will accept a name only the once so if you rename it metalmolds.xml it should be fine.

You said you are getting different readings in the DRO, is this at the first and last move?
I get the Z DRO going to 29.9987 at the start and the end of  the code, the reason it doesnt go to 30 is because your minimum step is 0.0031mm and if Mach moved one more step it would take it passed 30mm.

I have run the code a few times and each time it seems the same so not sure why you see it differently.
