How can I change a screen ?
« on: October 15, 2010, 12:34:03 PM »
Hi

I am running Mach R3.042.040 & Using the std Mach plasma screen and have noticed in the "Feed Rate " box
my units/min box dosent seem long enough to show my feed rates when running through a program.
I am set up in metric and the when the feed rate is above 10,000 value the first digit is hidden behind the edge of the display baox

Is it possible to edit this feature to extend the length of this box to showw all the digits??

As always thank you in anticipation for any guidance that can be offered

Hi,

load you set-file into a screen-designer. With the screen-designer you change the size and /or position of the DRO.

Hi Klaus

Thank you for your reply,
Being new to Mach (very new) is there any chance you can expand a little on what and how this is done??
I will try and stumble through and learn at the same time

Thanks

Hi,

I assume you use MachScreen from my web-site (http://www.kd-dietz.de/). When Machscreen is started, use menu File -> Open File, go to Mach3 install path (c:\Mach if you used Mach3 default install settings) select the set-file name and click open. You should see now page 1 from the set-file and the properties dialog-box. Before you go further, please make sure the most right icon of the toolbar is showing "1", if not change it by clicking at "M". Select the DRO you want to change the size by clicking at it with the left mouse button.  The selected element has sizing squares. Take one square with the left mouse button and hold the button down. Moving the mouse changes the size of the element. After sizing the element save the set-file. This can be done by either using the icon in the toolbar, or the menu File -> Save File. Reload the set-file in Mach3.

You may find that shortening the length of the DRO in the screen designer still causes your leftmost numbers to be clipped. If so, you'll need to shorten the height of the DRO. Typically, the length is dictated by the height, which controls the font size.
