Thanks Hood - realized that's what you meant about an hour ago - ...was rushed this morning on a few projects.

I'll pull what I can and send it along.

Thanks again for your help.

New Controller box for Chinese 3040??
« Reply #12 on: January 21, 2014, 02:59:54 PM »
Good Afternoon everyone from snowy washington dc.

Can anyone recommend where I can by a new controller box and cables for one of the world famous chinese 3040t routers.

Mine is kaput, and, being well out of my technical range to fix, I'm looking for a new controller and cables to simply swap the whole thing out and get on with the projects that have been on hold for over 30 days now as I've waded through this. I'm running a licensed Mach3 program a windows platform. I'm asking for cables as I understand that shielding may be an issue and might as well address that now as well.

Not looking to replace it with the same controller - rather something some of you fine experts might recommend.

I'm running intricate dimensional artcam files.

If any one has a used unit they would like to get rid of that works fine, I'm more than happy to look at it.

Thanks Everyone,
Joe

Joe,

The Gecko G540 would be hard to better http://www.geckodrive.com/geckodrive-step-motor-drives/g540.html plus their site contains all the necessary data / information to get it up and running etc.

Tweakie.

I bought a g540 controller before even plugging in my machine. I still have the stock blue box controller it came with, never used. PM me if interested. By the way, I have read that the stock controllers are problematic, but have read equally that people fire them up and start cutting with no problems at all. Typical low budget quality control I think. Some are good, and some are not so good, and it dont matter because they all cost the same! I didnt want to risk having to diagnose mysterious problems, thats why I went g540 right off the bat. It was a good decision.
