switching from CNCpro to MACH3
« on: March 28, 2016, 05:25:00 PM »
Our business has recently upgraded to a new computer that runs our shop CNC. We are switching from using CNCpro running on windows 98 to MACH3 with windows 7.  The problem now is that MACH3 will not communicate with the gecko drives to drive the motors (both have been replaced/upgraded in the past year).  I have checked all the port settings, and searched all over the forums for an answer but not found anything. All step/setting information/configurations were for the most part copied from the older computer. Does anyone have any ideas?

If you're using a 64bit version of Windows 7, then it won't work. Must be 32 bit windows.

I second what ger21 stated. We had the same issue. Finally installed a 32 bit version of windows 7 and all seems to work. Would highly recommend a xp OS though. Seems that mach works better with that

It is a 32 bit system, forgot to mention that.

The driver test said pulsing too fast. Then I ran it a second time and it says system excellent, but it is only doing 5673 pulses per second.
