Spindle Speed Control
« on: October 02, 2007, 03:12:50 PM »
Hello again,

I'm still having trouble with the spindle speed control in Turn.
I can get very good control with V2.0.65 which is the latest 'old' version that I have. The new V2.48 just gives incorrect numbers in the True speed display, the loop is not controlled and the spindle just gradually ramps up.
Reverting to the old version puts things back to normal.
Something seems to have changed.

That would be V2.52 I assume? I only just learned where to find it.
I'm just in the process of changing PCs so I can't run everything up yet. I'm also going away for a few days, so I may not be able to try it for a day or two.
I will report back

thanks

Hood,

I just got everything up & running on the new PC. Used V2.0.65 to get it all going ( which was not straightforward, as LPT1 pin 13 would not drive my charge pump OPTO. So I swapped ports and all worked )

Installed V2.048. No correct speed reading or control. Upgraded to V2.52 and no difference.

Looks like Brian or Art may have to look into your problem as it seems to be version specific. Well I think thats what you are saying, it works fine in 2.0.65 but not in earlier or later?

It worked fine up to & including 2.0.65. I have no other versions in between until 2.48, when it doesn't work.

I have just ( late last night ) managed to make 2.52 work properly by loading 2.065 into another directory afterwards. Both versions then work. I think it must be the latest version of the driver causing a problem with the index input. Previously I had been replacing one version with the other.
