Z Axis - moves past home switch and does not back off

Newbie question.. sorry!
I have fitted proximity switches to be used as Limit/homing all connected to Pin 10 of my CNC4YOU KK10 control board and wired in parallel as described in their documentation.
They work as limit switches but homing is not quite there yet. I have disabled the limit function for now, to concentrate on homing. When homed the Z axis moves towards the home switch which operates (i.e. red LED illuminates on the switch). However, the axis moves past the limit switch and does not stop and move off as expected.
I have searched the forum but not quite sure what to search for exactly....
Thanks for any help

Ahhh! Only getting M1 and M2 Home, yet the LED on the switch activates. I guess I should get all three Home LED’s on the diagnostics. I have rechecked wiring and that is correct. Is it better to run the wires to individual pins?

individual inputs would be the better choice, if you have enough free inputs.

As it stands now when I operate any of the switches all three Home LEDs light up on the Diagnostics page. Yet still when homed the Z axis moves in the right direction operates the switch and continues past when I would expect it to back off. I am still a little (well a lot) stumped on this.

ok,then it is a simple PP breakout board, no motion controller.
you are using Ref. Z button on diagnostic page to start the test
the z-axis seperate?
home, homing and reference are a little mixed up terms in Mach.
