Help Mach turn OD cut arc

I hope someone can help me with this. I think I have checked everything under the sun. I'm running V3.042.029
Here's my problem. I'm simply trying to turn a ball end on a 1/2" shaft. I plugged the information into the wizard. When I run the routine, what happens is my X axis gradually changes as the process operates. X is set at .5" at the start. This is verified. After it makes 3 or 4 passes my X axis moves toward 0". It doesn't seem to change in a set amount.
I've checked the steps per inch over and over. I've checked the backlash. I've used a dial indicator and cycled the X 20 times to verify it does not change. I've tried this in CV mode and in stop mode. I've looked at the code created by the wizard and don't see anything that would cause a change my X calibration.
What am I missing here?

Not really following what you are meaning but does the X DRO show the movement?

The X DRO says it's at .5" but the tool is closer to center. Like .3" or .4" sometimes. It seems, the more cuts it makes the more variance there is. I was wondering if it was a stepping problem, but i"m not just exactly sure how to test for that.

It sounds like you may be losing steps, does it do it if you run the code but just cut air?

What mode are you in Mach3 Turn ......radius or diameter ?
What are values based on for the inputs in the wizard ......radius or diameter ?
Did you watch the pathing moves in a dry run? The x is constantly changing as it cuts the ball.....

Rich, it's Mach3 Turn in diameter mode.
I made some headway. I turned backlash comp off and it worked perfect !!! So, it seems that the problem is related to backlash compensation.
