Could Windows XP be Twiddling the PP Pins
«

I've had no success in trying to solve my nuisance limit switch tripping.
I'm at the point of clutching at straws now.
Is it possible Windows XP is twiddling the parallel port pins?
Any tips for me?
Thanks.

HIghly unlikely, Have you tried unhooking the inputs from the PC side and running without them hooked up. IF you still have problems then you have noise on the PC side OR a ground loop OR a bad LPT port.
Just a thought, (;-)

i had the same type of symtoms only the machine would start on its own. had an oem input setup to a pushbutton for start.
would trigger on randomly. the input was was set to 5v off. this was on the motherboard pport. switched the port to a pci pport and never occured again.
