Input question

I'm using Mach 3 version 2.0.39.

When I go into Config, Ports & Pins, under the Input Signals tab, there is an input called 'Timing'.  It's way down in the list past all the OEM inputs.  I can't find any info in the PDF about this input.  Can anyone enlighten me on what it does?

The timing signal is for reading the spindle speed using a multi slotted disk and sensor.

Whereas the index input is to be used with a sensor that generates only one pulse per revolution?

and a 220 Ohm resistor. You have 5V going to the resistor then to the Anode, 5V goes to the VCC,Cathode and ground are connected together and go to your 5V supplies ground and finally the output is connected to a pin on the breakout ( or parallel port).

 Probably not a lot except cost ;) I use a disc with a slot in it but doing it the other way that they do it should work just the same. It was John P (Mach manual Ghuru) that told me what to use when I first converted my mill a few years back and it has served me well.

I have some OPB 825, OPB 861and a Sharp GP1S53; think you can i adapt it on your scheme?
