relatively New the MACH3

Weird menu problem on mach3. When I select a menu item , like config/motor tuning (or any other) the dialog box is not visible  unless I subsequently  tap the alt key. Did this from day 1 and by luck, I stumbled upon it ( the need to tap the alt key) after  pulling my hair out when initially trying to configure the system , only to hang in the hidden  modal dialogs  box.
