Yes, I see the pulsing engine in the device manager.  Not sure if I'm supposed to be able to test it or not.

Ok try going to the Mach3 folder and double clicking the drivertest.exe and see if it will run.
If not re-download Mach again and re-install, no need to remove the previous one you installed.
As Russ said, did your computer restart when you installed Mach the first time?

I did reboot the computer after installation and I have tried double clicking mach3.test from within the folder.  I allowed the installer to install to the default location on the disk.

I will try a re-install, although one responder told me that mach3.test will not work on Win 7.  True?

It will work on W7 32Bit but not on any 64bit OS.

Hood, are you saying that drivertest.exe will work with windows 7 32 bit?  That's what I'm using.  The program just exits before it appears on the screen.

I have never tried but I am 99.999% certain it will work on W7 32bit.

One thing however, you say YOU rebooted, what version of Mach are you installing?

Here's the latest...
I have reinstalled Mach 3 twice.  I make sure I reboot after install.  The parallel port installation does happen and it shows up in the device list.
Mach 3 runs and displays the correct license name.
drivertest does not run, does not show up in the task manager at all.  It looks like it wants to run, but terminates in about 1 second.

I am running clean install of Windows 7 on a qualified machine.  The version of Mach 3 is what's available on Artsoft's web page right now.  R3.043.066
The machine has Norton on it, but it is not running.  I uninstalled all the other clean up, speed up, and back up programs that keep popping up on the screen.

Not sure where to go from here.
