Problem with Campbell Combo Board
« on: May 22, 2007, 08:54:37 AM »
I've tried to contact Bob Campbell several times over the past week and a half and am awaiting a relpy and don't know how to contact Sound Logic but I want to get my mill running. If anyone has experience with this board and can make any suggestions it would be appreciated.

I have a PC2CNC Combo board Rev 2 and I'm trying to get the spindle running. I think I have the outputs/spindle controls in Mach 3 set up right but I'm not getting the desired results.

The charge pump relay is connected to a 'master' relay that shuts off all 3Ø power just past the disconnect and fuses. If the charge pump
isn't activated the spindle and coolant will not operate.

When in MDI:
M3/F5   (RUN relay)nothing happens
M4        (DIR)the relay turns on and the LED lights
M5        turns off relay and LED turns off
M8/^F   (coolant) relay turns on and LED lights
M9/^F   turns relay and LED off.

In the ports and pins settings I have;
Output #1   enabled   port 1   pin 1    Active high  (I checked pin #1 and I'm getting 4.21 volts to ground)
Output #2   enabled   port 1   pin 14   Active high
Output #3   enabled   port 1   pin 16   Active high

Relay control;
M3     Output  #1
M4     Output  #2
M7     Output  #3
M8     Output  #3

Thanks in advance for any input on the problems I'm having.

My apologies to Bob, apparently he did contact me previously but it was caught by my spam filter. I'm working on his suggestions now and we will see how it goes.
