China CNC 6040 Spindle Settings in Mach3
« on: July 29, 2016, 06:38:15 PM »
I have just bought a China CNC 6040 and have gotten all of the axis to move, but can't get the spindle to run. Does anyone know what the settings are suppose to be in Mach3 along with the pins on these chinese models. I got the limit switches to work, axis, and auto tool zero, but can't get the spindle to turn via mach3. It does turn on with it set to the controller via the run button and the potentiometer. Would greatly appreciate it if anyone has these settings or knows what to do.

Thanks,
Kelly

Your system is probably similar to mine.
I have a black control box with the VFD inside the control box instead of separate like the earlier ones.
The VFD is not configured to be controlled by Mach3 but you can reprogram the VFD and do some wiring mods to get it working.
I have decided to stick with manual spindle control for now. I have enough to learn without adding more to the list.

Do a google search for "Programming NOWFOREVER VFD" and you should find a few links to study. This is assuming that your controller is a NOWFOREVER unit.
There are programming manuals out there but not for my D100 series.

Thanks Jim,

I might end up doing the same with manual control. I have the same setup you do with a 2.2kw spindle. I have the manual, but they send one a little out dated. Some of the pins were wrong for the limit switches and there was no mention of the tool zero pin. So I could probably take the cover off and trace wires, but I'm a newbie and learning it too.

I did find the limit switch pins are 11, 12, and 13. Pin 15 is the tool zero and estop is 10.

Thanks for the info,
Kelly

I have the same problem and was advised to look at that clip, however as of yet I have not managed to see it all as I fall asleep watching it, it is an age thing, so I will probably give up and use manual control, however you say you have the limit switches working, did you fit these yourselve, as I have a 6040z and can not see any limit switches or wiring for the same.

I bought a unit that had the limit switches installed, they just had the pins numbered wrong for each axis. But they are not hard to install yourself. I can get you some pics when I get back to the cnc machine, but you can get the manual from http://www.chinacnczone.com/en/desktop-cnc-6040z-cnc-6040-manual-chinacnczone_l62_p10.html and see how to install them yourself. It is only two little metric bolts and the switch with a double stranded wire soldered to them. But look in the manual and see if you already have them first. If you need any other info let me know. I will help if I can.

Thanks,
Kelly

Thanks for the reply, I downloaded that file but wa unable to open it, I unzipped it tried to open it and my computer says it does not support that format, so as I only know how to type within a programme, thats it. but thanks anyway, I am trying to find someone living near me that can not only sort it out but show me how to use Mach 3 and this machine. I have a problem with reading and trying to watch video clips in that i fall asleep, however once shown I am ok.

Use 7Zip to unzip it and you need Adobe software to view it. Hope this helps.
