Keyboard Emulator or Breakout board
« on: February 06, 2017, 07:36:48 PM »
I find using a keyboard the simplest way to build a pendent as the functionality is already built in to Mach. Hopefully Mach 4 will be just as easy. In the past I've just hacked a keyboard and mapped out the characters, but keyboard are so cheap these days that you can't solder onto the board to where you're confident that it won't fail.

I've done quite a bit of searching, but can't find any off the shelf keyboard emulators, breakout boards or whatever you call them to build my pendent off of. I don't want anything fancy that I can change programming I just want a simple board that you wire yourself to get keystrokes as a keyboard would.

Does anyone have a link to buy one of those?

I've used those before for MAME machines I've built. Thought that there might be some other solution. Thanks, for reaffirming.

There may be other solutions, but that's the one I know of off the top of my head.
